ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In this engaging and thought-provoking workshop, you will come away with a better understanding of the journey of dementia and how to support those in need within your families and communities.
Participants will learn about:
- The educational aspects of dementia—what you need to know about this challenging and misunderstood disease and how to support those impacted by it.
- The practical aspects of caring for someone who is living with dementia.
- The emotional aspects of living with dementia or caring for someone who has it.
Personal stories will be woven from Kay's work as a dementia coach and educator that illuminates the importance spirituality can play in the dementia journey.
INSTRUCTOR
Kay Adams
Kay Adams is a licensed clinical social worker, a certified dementia coach and consultant, and the founder of Compassion Works. She has been counseling individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses for 23 years and is known for bringing humor, humility, and a unique authenticity to her work. She is the award-winning author of Bedside Witness: Stories of Hope, Healing and Humanity, which chronicles two decades of her career working with people impacted by dementia and those who love them.
