"The Path of the Bodhisattva: Awakening the Heart with Kwan Yin" is a contemplative class rooted in the teachings of Pema Chödrön’s Becoming Bodhisattvas and Stephen Levine’s Becoming Kwan Yin. Together, these texts illuminate the Bodhisattva path—a journey of the spiritual warrior who is wholeheartedly committed to alleviating suffering, both personal and collective, through the cultivation of boundless compassion.
We will explore the life and teachings of Shantideva, the 8th-century Indian prince turned monk, whose timeless wisdom offers practical tools for meeting life with courage, presence, and love. Woven throughout is the story and sacred presence of Kwan Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who invites us into deep listening, heart-centered action, and radical mercy. Through reflection, meditation, and embodied practice, participants will be supported in generating, embodying, and sharing compassion in daily life—awakening the heart not only for personal healing, but for the benefit of all beings.
