ABOUT THE CLASS

This class brings the principles of Science of Mind and Spirit into sharper focus by exploring the soil in which the ideas of our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes, took root. You will enjoy the richness of concepts contributed by the early metaphysical giants who most influenced and shaped Dr. Holmes' thinking: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Thomas Troward, and Emma Curtis Hopkins.

Each week provides an opportunity to apply the teachings of these metaphysical giants—just as Dr. Holmes did—to everyday life. Experience the aha moments Dr. Holmes experienced as he learned about his inner guidance, that impersonal, non-judging creative process, and then you too can touch the mystical life that can be ever present.

While this class is historical, it is highly practical and relevant for the issues you are facing today and the life you are creating for tomorrow.

During this class, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the context and history of Science of Mind and Spirit as the result of centuries of religious, philosophic, and scientific thought.
  • Explore the degree to which you listen to and act upon your inner guidance.
  • Examine the ways in which you trust yourself and stand ready to live life based on your own, rather than someone else’s, interpretations.
  • Gain a deeper appreciation and experience of the impersonal, non-judging nature of the creative process.
  • Examine the ways in which your thoughts have influenced your past and continue to shape your present.
  • Observe your life from the perspective of the mystic.
  • Experiment with the ways in which changing your perspective (moving from the mundane to the mystical) will change your experience.
  • Experiment with both affirmations and denials in regards to creating the life you desire to live.
We limit ourselves when we try to fix accurately beforehand the particular form of good that we shall produce. We should aim not so much at having or making some particular thing as at expressing all that we are. The expressing will grow out of realizing the beauty, the affirmative side, of all that we are now, apart from the negative conceptions and detractions which veil this positive good from us.
–THOMAS TROWARD
